LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Teaching young people leadership, respect and cooperation is key to their success, and a Little Rock non-profit is saying thank you to two people who have helped students find that success.
Cleveland Ellis, Executive Director of STOP (Students That Officially Patrol) presented the Legends Humanitarian Award to Dr. Brian McGee and Dr. William Rutledge Thursday.
While the two were grateful for the honor, they said the credit should go to Ellis.
“I believe in his program, what he’s doing for the youth and to see this come back like this, it’s amazing and I’m appreciative,” McGee stated.
Rutledge said that the award is very humbling and appreciated.
“It’s very humbling and I really appreciate the recognition,” he said. “Again, I think what he does is most important working with our youth.”
Student president of STOP Jayce Howard led off the program, and FOX 16 News anchor Donna Terrell was also recognized during the program.
Through the years, STOP has helped countless students, and has now partnered with Amazon to continue the work.
