CABOT, Ark. – A high school event was held in Cabot on Monday to recognize students who are entering the military following graduation.
The Cabot High School Military Signing and Recognition Day honored the 15 soon-to-be alumni. The group included students who will attend military academies, others joining the ROTC at various colleges and students enlisting in the service who will soon be leaving for boot camp.
Principal Henry Hawkins said the group had earned millions of dollars in scholarships, including the four who will attend military academies, for which the scholarship value was $600,000 each.
The school’s senior aerospace sciences instructor and Air Force Junior ROTC program director, retired Maj. Sean Gibson, presented several certificates to the students being honored.
Parents of the students being honored also attended the event.
