The federal Environmental Protection Agency is sending more than $93 million to install solar technology in low-income and disadvantaged Arkansas communities, the agency announced today.
Hope Enterprise Corporation was awarded $93,670,000 to improve access to solar energy across Arkansas. Their plans include building rooftop solar installations in low-income communities and lowering electric bills for people in multifamily buildings.
The agency announced $7 billion in funding as part of the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund’s Solar for All program for low-income and disadvantaged communities. The Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund is part of the Inflation Reduction Act, which was signed into law by President Joe Biden in 2022.
