JACKSONVILLE, Ark. – The Jacksonville Police Department has made an arrest in connection with a shooting that left two people injured Tuesday night.
JPD officials said Wayne Lee Jr. was arrested on Wednesday in connection with the shooting after an investigation and the execution of a search warrant for his vehicle. Police said his vehicle had been identified as being involved in the shooting.
On Tuesday night, officers with the Jacksonville Police Department responded to the park around 7:24 p.m. in reference to a shooting and, when they arrived, said they found two people who had been shot. Authorities said they were taken to the hospital for treatment.
Lee Jr. is facing several charges, including first-degree battery, two counts of terroristic act, four counts of aggravated assault, four counts of endangering the welfare of a minor, weapon possession during a controlled substance offense, possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance with purpose to deliver, possession of Schedule II controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful discharge of a firearm from a vehicle and proximity to certain facilities – Enhancement.
Police said Lee Jr. was transported to the Pulaski County Regional Detention Center.
Authorities said there was also a warrant out for Lee Jr. in another state.
