LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – State investigators said a tip to law enforcement has resulted in the arrest of a central Arkansas man accused of possessing child pornography.
Attorney General Tim Griffin announced Tuesday that 22-year-old Antonio Simmons of Jacksonville was arrested and is facing 150 counts of distributing, possessing or viewing matter depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child.
Griffin said the arrest began with a tip to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that continued on to Arkansas law enforcement executing a search warrant on Simmon’s Jacksonville home on Monday.
“Thanks to a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children which came through the Arkansas Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, special agents from my office’s Special Investigations Division executed a search warrant at Mr. Simmons’ home on June 3 with the assistance of the Jacksonville Police Department,” Griffin said.
Griffin said Simmons was taken into custody as a result of the search warrant.
Griffin encouraged anyone with information about child exploitation to let law enforcement know.
“It truly takes a team to protect our children from exploitation,” Griffin said.
Simmons was booked into the Pulaski County Regional Detention Facility and is being held without bond.
