JACKSONVILLE, Ark. – Jacksonville police said they have arrested a couple who is accused of child abuse and neglect after authorities said their toddler was taken to a hospital for urgent treatment.
According to the Jacksonville Police Department, officers responded to a local hospital after receiving reports that a 3-year-old was taken to the hospital Sunday. Police said the parents, Deja and Justin Rollins, were later arrested.
During the investigation, police said they learned that the couple had four other children, ages 2-10. The couple did not cooperate in telling authorities where the children were located, police said.
Officers said that the children were later found left in a car in the hospital’s parking lot.
Authorities in Jacksonville said that a malnourished dog was found in the couple’s home and was seized by the Jacksonville Animal Services.

Deja & Justin Rollins are each facing five counts of first-degree domestic battery, five counts of neglect of vulnerable person, five counts of endangering welfare of a minor, one count of animal cruelty and one count of obstructing gov’t operations.
They are currently being held at the Pulaski County Regional Detention Facility, with each having a combined $57,500.
