LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Officials with the Arkansas Department of Corrections said death row inmate Bruce Ward died Tuesday.
DOC officials said the 68-year-old Ward was pronounced dead at around 4:30 p.m. He died of natural causes, officials said.

Ward was the state’s longest-standing death row inmate, having been convicted and given a death sentence in 1990 after the murder of 18-year-old Rebecca Doss in 1989.
Ward was being held at the Varner Unit, DOC officials said.
Court records show a stay of execution for Ward was lifted in March of 2018. His execution was previously set for April 17, 2017.
