The FBI has increased the reward to $20,000 for information leading to the capture of an Arkansas prison escapee, the Arkansas Department of Corrections said Friday.
Authorities announced a $10,000 reward on Thursday and upped the bounty to $20,000 on Friday for information leading to the arrest of Grant Hardin, who escaped from the Arkansas Department of Corrections’ North Arkansas Unit in Calico Rock on Sunday.
On Thursday, law enforcement descended upon Faulkner County following a lead that Hardin had been seen in an area between Conway and Greenbrier on the day he escaped. The Arkansas Department of Corrections provided no update on that search or any other leads in an email announcing the increased reward Friday morning.
Hardin was serving a 30-year sentence for murder and an additional sentence for rape. He is a former police officer and was briefly the police chief of the small Benton County town of Gateway.
Hardin dressed in a makeshift law enforcement uniform during his escape.
Anyone with information on Hardin can contact the FBI tip line at 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324) or can contact their local FBI office or local law enforcement. Tips can also be submitted at tips.fbi.gov.
